Volunteer Golf Coach Opportunities

We are looking for volunteer golf coaches to assist with on-course Core Golf & Life Skills classes! Positive mentors and role models are vital to our mission. You don’t have to be a golf pro (or even a good golfer) to get involved. Our coaching philosophy is this… “Young people don’t care what a coach knows until they know a coach cares.” If you bring a passion for helping Charleston Area young people, we can provide everything else you will need to succeed.

As you consider volunteering, know that safety is our top priority.  Please read our Youth Safety Policy to learn more about how we protect our program participants and the volunteers who work with them.

Make an Impact off the Course

We rely on volunteers to accomplish all kinds of initiatives that keep our youth development programs going and not all of those involve golf. Off-course volunteer opportunities include:

  • Fundraising/Events
  • Operations/Administration
  • Mentoring/Tutoring
  • In-school programming
  • Van drivers

Get Started

Complete the following form to get started. Our Program Director, Meghan Taylor, will be in touch with volunteer opportunities that may be of interest to you, and she will provide links for your background check and SafeSport training.

At First Tee, we aim to create safe spaces that help every individual feel like they belong and can see themselves reflected. We invite you to self-identify (gender and ethnicity) should you choose.

NOTE: Active participants in First Tee programs are encouraged to volunteer.  The minimum age for volunteers is 16 years old (and 13 years old for active First Tee participants).
